Another continental crown for Qatar Handball Association as men win Asian junior title in Tabriz

Qatar remains the measure of all things in Asian male handball. After holding the titles in all continental men’s competitions –senior, youth and beach—the Qatari junior team successfully defended their title at the Asian Junior Championship in Tabriz, Iran from 2-14 August.

Qatar remained unbeaten in their seven respective tournament matches including the close final against Korea (29:28/13:12 at halftime) to claim a well-deserved champion’s trophy and book their ticket to the 2015 Junior World Championship in Brazil.

Earlier, Qatar defeated championship host Iran in style in the semi-final 26:20, while Korea dominated Japan in the other semi, winning 32:25. Along with both finalists, Japan clinched their berth for the 2015 World Championship after a thrilling 33:32 (16:16) win over Iran in the bronze medal match.
